The first edition of the Terrae Film Fest kicks off, making its debut at the Darsena Romana in Civitavecchia.
There are little-known places, steeped in history and tradition, that play a fundamental role in the fabric of the city. These places have a unique identity and are spaces to rediscover in order to recompose and preserve the historical memory of the place where one has grown up or lives. For these reasons, the Amici del Fondo Ranalli ODV Association, together with the International Tour Film Festival, with the support of the CARICIV Foundation of Civitavecchia, in collaboration with the Municipal Administration and the Port Authority, have promoted the "TERRAE FILM FEST" competition. Its goal is to give a voice to communities and let the territories speak through videos made by the citizens of Civitavecchia and the Tuscia area. The project offers the opportunity not only to recover the city's history but also to stimulate its sense of community, creating a space for sharing and social interaction using the medium of cinema.
The award ceremony for the winners will take place on September 13 and 14, 2024, at the Darsena Romana in Civitavecchia and will include various initiatives, such as the screening of the finalist short films, documentaries, and testimonies about the region. The project aims to be a catalyst for change, creating an inclusive and culturally stimulating environment for citizens.
Another goal of the event is to raise awareness among young people about their region, encouraging them to reclaim the archaeological spaces and historical sites in their area. Immersed in the chaos of everyday life, we often neglect the historical reality that surrounds us, losing our perception of it. This initiative is meant to provide an opportunity to learn, reflect, and delve deeper, through a medium that is especially suited to our times.
Free entry until all seats are taken.
