Writer: internationaltourffinternationaltourff

A wave of excitement swept through Civitavecchia during an event featuring Silvia Scola. Despite the morning rain, reminiscent of the weather in the film “Che Ora è”, students from the Stendhal, Guglielmotti, Galilei, and Calamatta institutes packed the Stendhal auditorium for a special occasion.

The morning flew by with passionate speeches from Graziano Marraffa, president of the Italian Historical Film Archive, Pino Quartullo, Silvia Scola, and Fabrizio Barbaranelli, enriched by video contributions from Piero Pacchiarotti’s Civitafilm.

The students discovered a transformed Civitavecchia compared to the one captured in the first take on February 13, 1989. A highlight was Pino Quartullo’s video call with Clementino, the Italian rapper preparing to perform at the Sanremo Festival. Clementino shared his memories of the theatrical role he played in the film (as Massimo Troisi) and emphasized his special connection to Civitavecchia, receiving warm applause from the audience.

The emotion peaked with a recognition award presented to Silvia Scola by the municipal administration, represented by Culture Councilor Stefania Tinti and Tourism Councilor Piero Alessi. The director recalled her arrival in Civitavecchia, a city she knew little about but immediately perceived as vibrant and sunny. The event concluded with remarks and questions from the students.

Professor Meloro oversaw the impeccable hospitality at Stendhal. In the afternoon, a photo exhibition of the film was inaugurated at the former Church of San Giovanni di Dio, which will remain open until Saturday evening.
