In Venice, the presentation of the XIV^ Edition of the ITFF of Civitavecchia

The 14th edition of the International Tour Film Festival, which will take place in Civitavecchia from October 1 to 5, 2025, will be presented on August 31 at 10:30 AM in the evocative setting of the Italian Pavilion, Sala Tropicana 2, Hotel Excelsior at the Lido di Venezia.
This event is once again included in the program of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival.
The International Tour Film Festival (ITFF) is the only international event held in the city of Civitavecchia, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture (MIC), the Lazio Region, Lazio Terra di Cinema, the Municipality of Civitavecchia, and the Ca.Ri.Civ Foundation, with two major sponsors, Enel and Molinari. The 2025 ITFF edition received 423 entries from 35 countries (195 Italian, 105 European, and 123 non-European), but only 100 made it to the competition.
Hosting in Venice will be President Piero Pacchiarotti, Artistic Director Antonio Flamini, and the patroness of this 2025 edition, the famous actress and TV presenter Emanuela Tittocchia.
During the presentation, the coveted ITFF Venice Awards will be presented, including one to Yvonne Sciò for her docufilm Womeness, though we won’t reveal more spoilers.
As President Piero Pacchiarotti states: “Being in Venice means taking cinema beyond borders, enhancing art and culture in a city that has always been an international showcase for cinema worldwide,” while Artistic Director Antonio Flamini adds: “In Venice, we bring a varied and engaging program, with new stories that depict today’s world.”
A festival that renews itself year after year and is always at the forefront, for 2025 it introduces, alongside traditional categories such as Fiction, Animation, Documentaries, Tourism, and Feature Films, new entries: Vertical Movie and Artificial Intelligence.
For this last category, only works partially created with the aid of Artificial Intelligence software, where all characters are portrayed and performed 50% by real actors and 50% by AI, are eligible.
Many collateral awards are granted during the International Tour Film Festival: from the 2nd edition of the MAFALDA MOLINARI AWARD, a cinematic recognition dedicated to women who have particularly distinguished themselves in the film world; to the 6th edition of ARTICLE 9 OF THE ITALIAN CONSTITUTION (specifically regarding the landscape), a competition curated by Ezio Sina and organized in collaboration with Apidge and Italia Nostra. Also, the 6th edition of ONE SEA OF BOOKS, an all-female literary competition curated by Marina Marucci and connected to the International Tour Film Festival, as it deals exclusively with books about cinema. Then the 3rd edition of FANITUDINE, a contest born in 2018 following the success of the radio show (Rai Radio3) “Lives That Are Not Yours,” and finally the 4th edition of the ITALIAN EXCELLENCE AWARD curated by the coach of Italian excellences Luca Papa.
The final event will be held in Civitavecchia from Wednesday, October 1 to Sunday, October 5, 2025, across several venues to root and engage the entire city territory. Screenings and various events will take place at Cinema Multisala Royal, Cinema Buonarroti, Teatro Verdi, Teatro Granari Off, Cittadella della Musica, and Hotel De La Ville.
The International Tour Film Festival is among the founders of the International Committee of Thematic Sustainable Tourism (CINETOUR), supported by UNESCO, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Foundation (SDG-FFUN SDG), and the Council of Europe.
