At the Venice Film Festival: Presentation of the International Tour Film Fest and the ITFF Venice Awards Presented
The Venice presentation confirmed the festival’s international scope, which continues to highlight the connection between cinema, tourism and cultural identities through a varied program, professional meetings and a network of institutional and artistic collaborations.
Artistic Director Antonio Flamini spoke about the project and, in the justified absence of President Piero Pacchiarotti, reiterated the festival’s growth and the central role of Civitavecchia as a meeting place for audiovisual languages, territories and audiences.
The prestigious ITFF Venice Awards went to the Lazio Region and to American actress Katherine Kelly Lang, widely known as Brooke Logan from the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful, who attended Venice with her new film due in Italian cinemas in November titled “My Story with You.”
Among the guests were Franco Mariotti of the Italian Film Journalists’ Union (SNGCI); festival directors Maddalena Mayneri (Cortinametraggio), Nicola Timpone (Marateale) and Donato Ciociola (Cinecibo); director Manuela Del Zompo; and producer Maria Guerriero.
For its 15th edition, ITFF set a new participation record with 536 works from 73 countries, of which 120 films from 38 nations will be screened in competition, confirming the festival as an international platform able to engage cinema, cultures and new narrative forms.
The opening film will be FRANCESCA E GIOVANNI — A story of love and mafia — directed by Simona and Ricky Tognazzi; the directors and lead actor Primo Reggiani will attend the screening together with many other guests.
Also of note among later evenings is the screening of NON È LA FINE DEL MONDO, directed by Valentina Zanella and starring Paolo Ruffini, Barbara Bouchet and Ivana Lotito.
Great attention is also paid to young audiences, with three matinées reserved for students, a competition section on the Italian Constitution and a final award decided by students, underscoring the festival’s educational and participatory mission.
The festival will take place at several city venues, including the National Archaeological Museum of Civitavecchia, an institute of the MiC under the Regional Directorate of National Museums for Lazio.
The event is organized by the CivitaFilm Cultural Association and produced with the support of the Municipality of Civitavecchia, Fondazione Cariciv, the Lazio Region, Lazio Crea, the Ministry of Culture and Cinetour.
Among the main sponsors are Enel, Leonori Auto Spa and the historic restaurant Esterina.
