International Tour Film Festival and Borghi Etruschi at the Minore Festival Conference

“Hidden Treasures, Communities, and the Future of Small Villages”

This is the title of the conference held in Monticiano, in the province of Siena, which hosts Minore, the Italia Nostra festival dedicated to cultural heritage and communities for the protection of heritage: it opened yesterday and runs until Sunday.

Speakers included:

• Piero Pacchiarotti, President of the International Tour Film Festival

• Ezio Sina, President of the Professional Association of Teachers of Legal and Economic Sciences (APIDGE)

• Pietro Carra, DMO Borghi Etruschi and Friends of the Painted Tombs Association, Tarquinia

• Tamara Sernacchioli, DMO Borghi Etruschi – Tourism Delegate of the village of Bassano Romano (VT)

• Sandro Capitàni, Journalist specializing in agricultural topics

The event took place in the municipality where the archaeological site of Bagni di Petriolo is located, where Italia Nostra is working to make the site accessible to the public again. It included guided tours, walks, trekking, artistic workshops, concerts, performances, and meetings, offering the public an immersion into the lesser-known but deeply identity-defining riches of the territory, with the aim of building a sustainable and shared development model.

The International Tour Film Festival participated with a meeting focused on Article 9 of the Constitution, organized in collaboration with DMO Borghi Etruschi.

Francesca Toto, Destination Manager of DMO Borghi Etruschi, stated: “Being a Destination Management Organization means enhancing the ancient civilizations, in our case the Etruscan one, which still represent a large part of Italian cultural identity today. I thank all the organizers for involving us in the Minore Festival.

The initiative is part of the celebrations of Italia Nostra’s 70th anniversary and aims to reaffirm the mission of safeguarding cultural, natural, and landscape heritage.”
