ITFF SCHOOL: Stendhal–Calamatta — actress Karla Sofía Gascón meets students

This morning was dedicated to cinema, culture and discussion for the students of IIS Stendhal – Calamatta in Civitavecchia, who had the opportunity to meet Karla Sofía Gascón, an internationally renowned actress and the star of the award-winning film Emilia Pérez.
The initiative, carried out in collaboration with the International Tour Film Festival (ITFF), chaired by Piero Pacchiarotti and organized by Civitafilm, is part of the program of the fifteenth edition of the Festival, which featured the Spanish actress among the main figures of the city’s film event.
Winner of the Best Actress award at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival and a nominee for the Oscars and the Golden Globes, Karla Sofía Gascón met with students from the fifth-year classes of the Institute, sharing experiences linked to her artistic career and her personal journey.
The students’ active participation was particularly significant: they did not simply listen, but took part in large numbers, directing questions and curiosities straight to the actress. A spontaneous and engaging dialogue emerged, during which the young people had the chance to confront an important figure in the international film scene.
At the center of the meeting were not only the world of cinema and acting, but also topics of great educational and social value, such as inclusion, respect for diversity, freedom of expression, overcoming stereotypes and the importance of believing in one’s aspirations.
The students’ curiosity and their desire to delve deeper into the topics discussed made the morning a genuine opportunity for growth and exchange, confirming how important it is to create, within the school, spaces for direct dialogue with personalities from the world of culture and entertainment.
The event also represents another step in the consolidated collaboration between IIS Stendhal – Calamatta and the International Tour Film Festival, a synergy that over the years has allowed students to get closer to the cinematic language and its protagonists, turning cinema into a tool for education, awareness-raising and the development of critical thinking.
The School Leadership expresses great satisfaction with the success of the initiative and, above all, with the interest and participation shown by the students, underlining the value of experiences that enrich the educational path and help build a school open to the territory, to culture and to the challenges of contemporary society.
A heartfelt thanks goes to Karla Sofía Gascón for her availability and for sharing her experience with young people, to ITFF President Piero Pacchiarotti, to Civitafilm and to everyone who contributed to organizing the meeting.
A morning that demonstrated how cinema can go beyond the screen, becoming an occasion for meeting, dialogue and growth, leaving young people not only with the memory of an exceptional guest, but also with new prompts for reflection about the world and about themselves.
